Initially specializing in fast-paced retail construction projects such as gas stations, restaurants, and retail stores, we have steadily expanded our expertise to include self-performing fueling/mechanical work, site work, and service/maintenance. This growth has enabled us to successfully manage larger, more complex projects, including those exceeding $10 million, while maintaining the flexibility and attention to detail that ensure success on projects of any size. Frank DeMeyer

With a distinguished career spanning over 30 years, Frank DeMeyer, the visionary owner of Aventura Construction, has built a reputation for delivering excellence and exceeding client expectations. A graduate of the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Frank’s journey into the construction industry began within his family’s concrete and general construction business. Growing up in an entrepreneurial household, he developed a strong understanding of the construction industry and a lasting commitment to service excellence.

In 2001, Frank founded Aventura Construction to realize his vision of a company that excels in every facet of construction. Under his leadership, the business expanded to include self-performing trades, providing greater control over schedules, quality, and safety, and ensuring comprehensive solutions to meet diverse client needs.

Frank’s leadership and expertise have made him a respected figure in the construction and commercial sectors. He has successfully spearheaded projects exceeding $10 million in value.

Beyond his professional achievements, Frank is deeply committed to giving back to the community. He actively supports local charities and participates in annual fundraisers, embodying Aventura’s mission to make a positive impact both within and beyond the construction industry.

Rob Rodriguez

Comptroller / Human Resource & IT Support Specialist

Rob Rodriguez is a seasoned professional who has been with Aventura for over two decades, and he seamlessly fulfills multiple pivotal roles. His diverse skill set contributes to the company’s holistic operation and success.

In his primary role as the company’s Comptroller, Rob is responsible for financial reporting, accounts receivable collection, and compliance with tax-related requirements. As a Human Resources Specialist, he oversees critical areas such as recruitment, benefits administration, and general employee considerations. Rob also dons the hat of an in-house IT Support Specialist, taking charge of purchasing and setting up new equipment and software, while also maintaining the local network.

Rob’s professional journey began at Unilever, where he started in the mailroom as a 17-year-old while pursuing his college education. Over time, he became an accountant in the same company and then got an opportunity to work directly for two of its chairmen as an Investor Relations Specialist.

From Honduras, Rob is bilingual and fluent in Spanish and English. This is a valuable asset when collaborating with Spanish-speaking subcontractors and employees within the construction industry.

Outside the corporate world, Rob takes on a very different role on Sundays as a preacher and a dedicated Bible study teacher in Queens. His multifaceted talents and unwavering commitment make him an indispensable part of the Aventura family.

Donald “Sal” Fastuca

With over 35 years of experience in the construction and energy sectors, Sal Fastuca is a highly skilled project manager. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and certifications in OSHA, Hazwoper, MNR, and SST, reflecting his dedication to safety and excellence.

Since joining Aventura in 2008, Sal has managed full-cycle projects, from scoping and bidding to construction and close-out. His extensive portfolio includes high-profile clients such as Exxon Mobil, BP, Villages, NYS Office of General Services, school districts, and NYCDEP across the Tri-State Area and Long Island.

Before Aventura, Sal held key roles at CB Richard Ellis and Trammell Crow Company (2001–2009), overseeing numerous retail marketing projects for Exxon Mobil. In 2008, he completed 17 projects, including demolish-and-rebuild and piping upgrades for Exxon Mobil Aviation, many of which finished ahead of schedule, demonstrating his efficiency and attention to quality. Earlier in his career, Sal gained experience at Texaco and Motiva, serving as Plant Manager, Project Engineer, and Drilling Supervisor,
building a strong foundation in both technical expertise and project management.

Outside of work, Sal enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife, Nancy, jogging, bicycling, and playing pickleball. He cherishes spending time with his children and grandchildren and, as one of 10 siblings, values family and balance in all aspects of life.

Robert “Bobby” Weglein

We are proud to introduce Robert Weglein, our accomplished Field Operations Manager, whose extensive experience and exceptional leadership have been instrumental to Aventura’s success for over 20 years.

With more than three decades in the construction industry, Robert’s career began as a carpenter before advancing to Foreman, where he honed his leadership skills. He later mastered heavy equipment operation and earned a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), showcasing his versatility and hands-on expertise.

This hands-on experience laid the foundation for Robert’s ascension to Senior Project Superintendent and Site Safety Superintendent, where he refined his ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and prioritize safety and productivity. Robert’s skill in balancing day-to-day operations with long-term planning makes him an indispensable part of our team. His unwavering commitment to safety, teamwork, and excellence ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.

In addition to his leadership skills, Robert holds certifications in OSHA Hazwoper, MNR, and SST, highlighting his dedication to safety and professional growth. His deep
knowledge of construction operations spans elevations, layout, and mechanical systems.

We are confident that Robert’s leadership and expertise will continue to drive Aventura’s success and uphold our commitment to excellence.

Joe Pepe was an original member of Aventura Construction, and for over 20 years, he stood by Frank’s side, shaping the company into what it is today. Joe’s unwavering dedication to Aventura was unparalleled—his commitment to the company ran through his veins. He wasn’t just a colleague; he was the embodiment of the company’s core values.

Known for his extraordinary integrity, Joe was a man of high moral character who lived by a simple yet profound code: honesty, transparency, and dedication. His brutal honesty and openness made him a trusted figure, not only within Aventura but also among clients and co-workers alike. Joe’s straightforward approach fostered deep relationships, built on mutual respect and trust.

Joe’s spirit and dedication to excellence continue to live on at Aventura. Just a quick note to let you know that everyone at Walden who worked with Michael Norton during the Island Park UST/generator installation project was very impressed with his professionalism and ability to get things done.
